DAYBREAK UTAH

Description

Project Brief:

Daybreak is a 4,000 acre mixed-use walkable TOD community located in South Jordan, Utah.  It is comprised of 12 residential neighborhoods each focused around a series of mixed-use village centers.  It is being developed by Kennecott Land Company ( a subsidiary of Rio Tinto) and boasts a town center with mixed-use, commercial, institutional and residential uses organized around three light-rail transit stops connecting it to downtown Salt Lake City.

In 2012 Moser Design Group was awarded the opportunity to collaborate in creating the architecture for a new neighborhood.  MDG was charged with designing several new residential building types. Due to their extensive experience in designing smaller homes, MDG was asked to concentrate on strategies for the lowest end of the market spectrum.  The designs range from 1,000 to 2,000 square feet, and nestle into the neighborhood fabric.  A series of Cottage Courts were also designed along a beautiful Paseo leading down to the feature lake.
