Project Brief:

Deer Moss Creek is located at the Northeast corner of Niceville Florida. It is a family owned property consisting of approximately 1,100 acres and is being developed by Ruckel Properties.  Their development goals were to extend the existing network of streets of Niceville into the property to create new mixed-use neighborhoods while preserving as much open space as possible.

Eric Moser co-led a Studio Sky, LLC charrette in January of 2013 to create a master plan and develop the architectural syntax for the property.  The result was a series of 10 mixed use, densely populated, Hamlets surrounded by agriculture, open space, and parks.  The Hamlets were organized within pedestrian sheds and in areas with the least environmental impact. The building typologies included commercial, industrial, civic, and residential.
